Matthew Horowitz
This man is from Hardware City. This man will show up to any event twenty minutes late with untied shoes, perfect hair, and bared teeth. This man is a self proclaimed man of many fictions. Not to say he lies. He just assumes that whatever the truth may be is, by default, the least interesting of possible outcomes. Cause truth is just what is. Lies have purpose. Lies are stories. Lies mean something. Usually something unsettlingly true. This man’s life is an eternal “What else?”Comics, acting, writing, art, history, law. Like the scorned gypsy woman carrying birds and knives said; relentless pursuit of fictions great and terrible. Ladies and gentlemen, upon the page, upon the stage, Matthew Benjamin Horowitz.
Alex Jarvis
Alex M. Jarvis is somewhere in the Middle of Connecticut right now, caring desperately about things not in the middle of Connecticut. He is a writer, newbie programmer, part-time memeticist and snappy dresser. He speaks to Boston from afar, on the ethereal waves and wires of these very Internets, occasionally dragging his carcass up to the Boston area to engage in joyous tomfoolery, all in the name of good fun (and science).
Alex is a Super Geek, and proud of it. Often known to wear an 8-bit tie and an Interrobang ring, he is unabashedly willing to substitute dignity for a good story, or maybe just a laugh. His tastes in media reflect this uber-nerdom, his enthusiasm providing for a geekier insight and counterpoint when people take things too seriously, and will staunchly defend his right to enjoy nonsense at any turn.
If you are to meet him in person, you’ll find a (hopefully) enjoyable fellow who has a staunch devotion to the Green Lantern Corp (as well as most of DC’s Lineup), video/tabletop/the occasional card games, and fiddling with whatever shiny gadget has taken his attention at that moment. He is studying at Central Connecticut State in a fake major that he made up, because he can.
Rachel Mercer
Rachel Mercer is a Boston-based creative professional and writer who blogs incessantly about meaningless blather and watches way too many movies. Most of her free time that’s not already devoted to HelloSilo and ROFLCon-related events is concentrated on whatever new DVD boxed set that she’s sitting down to devour, or the latest book or magazine that has been freshly delivered to her front door and into her grubby hands.
As the resident set of boobs, Rachel is frequently called upon to explain the ways of women, provide an alternate opinion, beat sense into Alex and Matt, or just sit there and be quiet — because that’s what women are supposed to do, right? Just kidding, but she will beat some sense into them if necessary and hopefully keep their Darkest Knight rants to a minimum
When not helping to build a mutli-media empire, Rachel can be found frequenting comic book shops, playing tabletop games, or obsessively organizing anything within reach. She is based in Boston where she relocated to attend college, and lives there with her equally nerdy sibling who also enjoys cartoons, comic books, and video games.
